Cono Kaasmakers raises the advance milk price for May by €2,71 per 100 kilos and thus occupies an intermediate position. Leerdammer will pay almost €4,20 more for June. This puts the latter in particular up a notch compared to the rest.
With the latest increase, Cono Kaasmakers pays a basic milk price for May of €51,08 per 100 kilos. The cooperative therefore occupies a reasonable middle position for that month, according to the report Boerenbusiness Milk price comparator. If all allowances are taken into account, she is not the highest payer in May, but Cono will end up in the leading group again.
Leerdammer is partly in the same boat
As a producer of branded cheeses, Cono is finding it more difficult than many other companies to keep up with the rapid increases. Fellow company Leerdammer is in a certain sense in the same boat, but as part of dairy giant Lactalis it has more room to move with the market and is doing so for the month of June. This company increases the milk price by €4,19 per 100 kilos to a total of €55,87. This positions it for the time being as the highest payer for this month. This is partly possible with the meadow milk price and the maximum milk price. The meadow milk price is higher than that of FrieslandCampina and DOC Kaas. With a maximum milk price of €59,12 per 100 kilos, there is more competition.
No average milk price until June is yet known for Cono. With an average (basic) milk price of €48,01 per 100 kilos, Leerdammer is at the same payment level as DOC Kaas and has to beat A-ware and FrieslandCampina.
