FrieslandCampina hits the ground running with the sale of Friso

June 9, 2022 - Wouter Baan - 1 reaction

FrieslandCampina has temporarily halted Friso's sales plans, Bloomberg news agency reports. The bids are not close to the $2 billion asking price.

Sources surrounding the deal report that the search for a buyer has not yet been definitively stopped, but that the Dutch dairy cooperative is reorienting itself. FrieslandCampina itself does not want to respond.

Initially, the infant nutrition brand was valued by analysts at $2 billion, but potential buyers don't want that. The war in Ukraine is fueling investment doubts, as are rising interest rates to curb inflation.

At the beginning of this year, it was revealed that various private equity parties from America and Canada would be interested.
