BoerBurgerBeweging the third party in the Netherlands

June 12, 2022 - Eric de Lijster - 5 comments

If elections are now held for the House of Representatives, BoerBurgerBeweging (BBB) will be the third party in the Netherlands. This is apparent from the weekly poll by Maurice de Hond. The party of leader Caroline van der Plas has 13 seats in the poll, 12 more than now. The coalition parties VVD, D66, CDA and ChristenUnie jointly lose 29 seats in this vote.

The poll was conducted after the announcement of the nitrogen plans of the cabinet for Dutch agriculture and horticulture. This policy announced by VVD minister Christianne van der Wal (Nature and Nitrogen) has not made VVD and D66, the strongest advocate for manure in livestock, more popular. VVD loses 11 seats in the poll to reach 23 seats. D66 halves with only 12 seats in the polls, a loss of 12 seats. Remarkably enough, with 13 seats, BBB is above D66 in the poll.

The sample was taken for the VVD congress, in which a majority of members voted against the cabinet's nitrogen plans, and the vote on the merger of PvdA and GroenLinks in the Senate. Another big 'winner' is the JA21, the party of leader Joost Eerdmans. JA21 wins 7 seats and ends up at 11 seats. There is one big 'but' in the poll, emphasizes Maurice de Hond. Pieter Omzigt, who now forms a one-man faction in the House of Representatives, was not included in the poll. Omtzigt has not yet announced whether he will participate in the next parliamentary elections at all. In an earlier poll in which Omtzigt was given as an option with a party, he had a potential of 24 seats. They were also nice stole some seats from BBB.

And that's why I wonder how long this will be tolerated.
Or first all to the lightning and then lick deep wounds and start a very long road again
If you have earned anything, use it up, otherwise the government will collect it from you.

The problem is that theory has become so far removed from practice that it is virtually impossible to continue a discussion with arguments.

Just look at the impact of the war in Ukraine, now you no longer hear from the left-wing elite that the defense has been badly neglected.

The already failed energy transition is also a good example and if the current minister Yetten put his shoulders to the wheel and took responsibility and presented concrete plans, then you can still have some respect.
But he stands there and looks at it and nothing happens.

The discussion about food will also come because those people who live on the canal belt have no idea how and where the food comes from until they come to stand in front of empty shelves and then the mess breaks out.

I'm a huge fan of BBB, but I still think she should not lose sight of FDF from origin, and that is huge dissatisfaction. We farmers are put to the test by government agencies on a daily basis, and it can sometimes become too much of a good thing. Mrs. van der Wal doesn't have to be an idiot. I once lifted up ripe poplars, and 1 week later there was a note on a pole, with the inscription: Dirty rotten farmer, where are OUR trees? Never got me, and the children do not feel threatened either, so as far as the visit to van der Wal is concerned, she does hang a lot of fuss op.Dat man is not in place there. She has to go to childcare and read from Hansel and Gretel.
