At the same time, Schumacher is giving up his supervisory position at C&A. This means that the number of additional positions held by the CEO remains the same. In recent years, there has been regular discussion among FrieslandCampina members about the number of additional positions held by top managers. According to the company's 2021 annual report, the supervisory board held a discussion about tightening the rules for additional positions. The precise results are not known. In any case, they did not stand in the way of Schumacher's move.

At Unilever, which is a major customer of FrieslandCampina, Schumacher will join former House Speaker Gerdi Verbeet, who chairs the Supervisory Board.

4 more additional functions
In addition to this supervisory directorship, Schumacher has four other additional positions. He is represented in the AgriNL platform. Internal disagreement arose in October last year because, according to some, it was too actively involved in the government's nitrogen plans. Schumacher also sits on the Supervisory Board of the Amsterdam concert hall. He is also chairman of the Global Dairy Platform (GDT), a global dairy consultation platform, and he is chairman of the Dutch Dairy Organization (NZO).

Unilever major customer
The time required for these functions varies. Schumacher, for example, no longer spends much time on the NZO, because even though he is chairman and may appear as such, the actual chairman's work is done by his deputy Albert de Groot. The supervisory directorship at Unilever may take more time. Funny detail: Schumacher once started at the same Unilever as a trainee.
