Dairy sector calls on Rutte for real conversation

12 July 2022 - Linda van Eekeres - 5 comments

In a full-page advertisement on the back page of the Telegraaf and the AD of today (July 12), representatives of the dairy sector call on Prime Minister Mark Rutte to talk about the goals, timeline and implementation of the proposed nitrogen policy.

Dairy farmers have their backs against the wall because of the 'proposed unrealistic nitrogen plans', according to the organizations in the open letter to Rutte. "Proposals for nitrogen reduction have been submitted to the cabinet from the agricultural sector, which do offer prospects to dairy farmers. There are also local and regional plans that do justice to the specific circumstances and the dairy farmers in such an area. Why is nothing being done there? done with it?"

Rutte wants to talk to farmers this summer
Rutte indicated in his weekly press conference on Friday (July 8) that he wants to talk to farmers this summer. According to the organizations, the cabinet and farmers can only get out of an impasse if there is also the will to 'finally also discuss the goals, the timeline and the details' of the policy for nitrogen, climate, water and manure.

In addition to ZuivelNL, which paid for the advertisement, the letter was signed by the Dairy Farming Department LTO Nederland, the Dutch Dairy Farmers' Union (NMV), the Dutch Agricultural Youth Contact (NAJK), the Dutch Dairymen Board (DDB) and all cooperative and private dairy processors, united in the Dutch Dairy Organization (NZO).

Still special, isn't it! Agriculture has been confronted with nitrogen for forty years. It is now 0.001 to twelve and everything and everyone is suddenly in an uproar. Today is not the first time that the law and regulations are really much too complex. Every livestock farmer has almost a private advisor. Really, the reliance on these kinds of advisors is insanely high. The cost has been rising for years due to legislation that hardly anyone understands anymore. And what have our "foremen" been doing for far too many years? They agree to a compromise that increases costs even more. Something has to change in our farming world, and now!!

real conversation?

Word choice is seed for professional liars and a pitfall for hard-working subsidy slaves, we provide the fodder for their black hatred, guilt fear rhetoric of ruling lobbyists and their social history errands without knowledge or skills

1 seasoned politician gives his life and is ignored
1 hardworking politician WITH training had to go elsewhere

inflation, lost jobs due to Visionless Divide and rule corona subsidy, mobility blackmail, housing blackmail, food blackmail:
subsidy-addicted primary sector gives the death blow.

and yet they take their responsibility unlike party of liberty
too sad for words

and thanks for your vote

Changing the climate back through fewer farmers instead of thorium plants, water basins, raising dikes, improving public transport instead of subjugation blackmailing lobbycracy.

This country is sick of empty education to all-out quarrelsome arrogance
and a real conversation.
