The price of phosphate rights has risen steadily again in the past week with calm trading. The DCA quotation is currently moving just above €160,50 per kilo. In just a month's time, € 5,00 has been added to the price.
The farmers who still buy allowances do so from current accounts or from the receipt of European premiums. The banks no longer finance the purchase of phosphate rights, according to traders.
The lease of small batches of skimmed-free phosphate continues quite smoothly. Lease of larger lots over 100 kilos is not really getting going yet. At the moment, no acute shortages of phosphate rights are being felt either.
Lease with creaming still silent
This is expected to change in the coming months. In that case, buyers who themselves have too few rights may have to be satisfied with extra creaming and then still lease phosphate rights for a price of somewhere between €36 and €40 per kilo.
