Arla keeps milk price the same for the month of September

Arla has not yet officially indicated how the price will work out for the Netherlands and Belgium. Sometimes there are small differences in the settlement due to exchange rate differences.

For August, Arla paid according to the Boerenbusiness milk price comparator a basic milk price of €59,29 per 100 kilos. For Vlog and Climate Check - two mandatory items at Arla - an additional €2,65 per 100 kilos is added. Last month, Arla increased the milk price by €1,17 per 100 kilos.

Although Arla keeps the milk price the same, the company sees two different trends in the global dairy market. On the one hand, prices for most commodities (bulk dairy) are falling, while prices remain relatively high in the EU. On the other hand, milk supply is declining in large parts of Europe due to the drought.

Europe could suffer from cheap New Zealand product on the export markets, but New Zealand cannot supply much for the time being. Little trouble is also expected from other competitors for the time being.
