FrieslandCampina breaks through the stability of the months of June and July and increases the guaranteed price for September by €1,25 per 100 kilos. This has been announced by the company. However, the organic guaranteed price will not increase.
As a result, the difference between the organic and conventional milk price drops to €1,50 per 100 kilos. The current guaranteed price for September has been set at €61,25 per 100 kilos. The organic guaranteed price remains the same for the third month in a row at €62,75 per 100 kilos. FrieslandCampina is therefore different from competitor Arla, who decided to keep the milk price the same for September.
According to the Boerenbusiness Dutch Milk price calculator Thanks to the latest increase, FrieslandCampina pays a slightly higher current milk price than Arla. The latter company, on the other hand, pays a considerably higher organic milk price than FrieslandCampina.
FrieslandCampina reports that it can increase the milk price for September, thanks to a positive correction to the higher reference milk prices of its competitors in the past period. In recent months, the milk price of these companies, on which FrieslandCampina bases the guaranteed price, has therefore been estimated a little too low. Arla's milk price for September remains the same, as reported, but due to exchange rate differences there is a small difference between the August and September prices in the Netherlands and Belgium.
The organic milk price is kept the same, because the companies with which this price is compared are expected to keep their payout for organic milk the same.
