Vreugdenhil stops increasing milk price
Vreugdenhil Dairy Foods will keep the milk price for August the same as that of July, the private dairy company has announced. As a result, the powder producer loses the leading position in the milk price comparator of Boerenbusiness.

The basic milk price for August of Vreugdenhil Dairy Foods remains at €60,27 per 100 kilos. This has been calculated based on an annual supply of 1 million kilos and the standard fat and protein contents in the Netherlands. Including bonuses and premiums, the payout price can amount to a maximum of €61,77 per 100 kilos.
DOC cheese now in the lead
With the stable mutation, Vreugdenhil loses the leading position in the Milk price comparator. This will be occupied in August by DOC Kaas, which has also further increased the milk price for September. The changing of the guard is related to developments in the dairy market. The valorization of milk powder has been under pressure in recent months, which means that Vreugdenhil has no scope to further increase the milk price. Vreugdenhil is still listed as the second payer in the comparison, both for the basic milk price and for the pasture milk price. At the maximum milk price, which is the price including all available allowances and premiums, the dairy company is in sixth place.
The DCA quotation for skimmed milk powder has even fallen from more than €4.000 to €3.545 per tonne. Despite a summer dip, cheese prices (Gouda, Edam) remain well above the limit of €5.000 per tonne.
