The Belgian milk prices, like the Dutch prices, still increased in August. The height of the increase was lower than in the Netherlands. Instead of barely 80 cents, less than 50 cents were added.
This is evident from the Belgian Milk Price Comparator van Boerenbusiness. In July, the five largest processors paid an average milk price of €59,96 per 100 liters, in August that price rose to €60,44 per 100 liters.
Three of the five processors kept their milk prices the same: Laiterie des Ardennes, FrieslandCampina and A-ware. At Milcobel, the reward for the milk itself did not increase, but the volume premium increased by 28 cents per liter (with an annual supply of 1 million liters). Arla was the only one who really increased the milk price in August, by €1 per 100 liters.
However, this did not move the company higher in the rankings. Arla gives priority to the other processors in terms of (advance) milk money. A-ware, which did not increase, remained the company that paid out the most money.
