The average milk price paid in the Netherlands rose more sharply in September than in August: by €1,02 per 100 kilos instead of €0,79 cents. This can be deduced from the Boerenbusiness Milk price comparator. However, this is not just due to ordinary market movements.
The winter bonus that Vreugdenhil Dairy Foods pays from September has a major influence on the arithmetic average milk price. If this is not taken into account, the average milk price increases by only €0,56 per 100 kilos. This is also more in line with the image of the market. Milk prices are still rising, but on average less and less.
Bare milk price above €60,00
The average bare milk price in August was just under €60,00 per 100 kilos, but €59,46. In September, this border was crossed and, on the basis of the data in the Boerenbusiness Milk price comparator The meadow milk price was €60,48 per 61,98 kilos and the maximum milk price was €100 per 64,21 kilos. Significant payout differences can be seen between the processors themselves. For the basic milk price, the difference between the highest and the lowest payer is €100 per 4,28 kilos. The milk price of Vreugdenhil benefited from the winter bonus, which came into effect in September and increases the payment by €100 per 3,90 kilos. Cono is lowest.
It should be noted, however, that almost no Cono member receives the basic milk price. What's more, very few Cono members receive the basic milk price plus only the pasture supplement. The differences in payment are greatest for the meadow milk price, because there is a gap of €7,47 per 100 kilos between the same lots. At the maximum milk price, the difference between the highest (A-ware) and the lowest is €5,62 per 100 kilos.
These differences on a monthly basis do not indicate who the best and worst payers are this year up to and including September. Next time we'll make like Boerenbusiness this balance again.
