The average organic milk price in the Netherlands rose slightly more in September than in August, according to the Boerenbusiness organic milk price comparator. Then the average milk price rose by only 50 cents per 100 kilos. In July, an additional €2,60 was added.
In September the average milk price was almost €0,80 and €66,51 per 100 kilos was paid. The frontrunner is Arla with €68,81 per 100 kilos. Most of the others followed a short distance away. The mutual payment differences are smaller for the organic milk price than for the normal milk price.
The organic milk price remains higher than the normal milk price, but the difference with the average (usual) meadow milk price - which in practice perhaps comes closest to the organic milk price - has become quite small. The average meadow milk price for September is €61,98 per 100 kilos, according to the comparator.
Almost 34% versus 75% more milk money
Since the beginning of 2021, the organic milk price has increased by an average of €16,73 per 100 kilos: from €49,76 in January last year to €66,51 per 100 kilos now. That's 33,6%. However, the average meadow milk price has risen much faster: from €35,42 then to €61,98 in September. That equates to a price increase of 75%.
