Prices for phosphate rights shot up sharply at the beginning of October, but the market has cooled down slightly in recent weeks and prices for both purchase and lease rights have fallen to a slightly more friendly level.
The supply of allowances has increased in recent weeks, but although prices are falling, buyers are staying away. Apparently it doesn't help that the price has dropped by about €4,00 per purchase right. We have to wait until there is a new impetus for buyers, either in the form of extra milk money (for example with the guaranteed price for November), but the chance of this seems to be decreasing, or because livestock farmers realize that they have to be quick if they still want to purchase sufficient rights.
Yet not much happens. The trade in leasing rights is also running calmly. The price for small batches of skimming-free lease rights has fallen by an average of €4,50 per kilo, but that does not make much of a difference either. The price for lease rights with skimming fluctuates around €44,00 per kilo. However, the market for this is also small and quiet.
