Supply cooperative Eko-Holland is increasing the organic milk price for November, just like Arla did before. FrieslandCampina actually lowered the price for November. Eko-Holland is the largest collector of organic milk in the Netherlands.
Eko-Holland's advance milk price for the month of November is based on the comparison Boerenbusiness works out at €66,55 per 100 kilos ex VAT, for a delivery of 1 million kilos per year. That is 50 cents per 100 kilos more than was paid in October. The winter surcharge has not yet been calculated at this price, but at Eko-Holland it is not paid on a monthly basis, as is the case at FrieslandCampina, for example. The allowances and deductions are netted over the entire year.
Due to the difference in presentation, Eko-Holland now appears to pay less than FrieslandCampina and Arla, but calculated over the entire year, this is more nuanced. The parties are closer together than it seems.
The average organic milk price this year is close to the average pasture milk price, as is also evident from the Boerenbusiness (organic) milk price comparator.
BD milk price below that of organic
Eko-Holland also increased the biodynamic (bd) milk price to €65,20 per 100 kilos. This BD milk price has lagged slightly behind the regular organic milk price in recent months, but that is an exceptional situation. BD dairy farmers usually receive a significantly higher price than their organic colleagues.
