Wim Betten is stepping down as CEO Cono Kaasmakers

17 November 2022 - Klaas van der Horst

Wim Betten will stop as general manager of Cono Kaasmakers on 1 July 2023. He hands over his position to Jerry Griep, the current commercial director of the dairy group from the Beemster. Betten has been working at Cono since 2012 and has been managing director since 1 January 2016.

Betten will remain with Cono for at least a year after his retirement as an external senior advisor on strategy and technology, the company said. He has agreed with the board to terminate his eleven-year employment contract. Under Betten's direction, the new cheese dairy has been built and optimized in recent years and further lines have also been set out for the future.

The organization is ready, says Betten. "Since January 2016, as general manager and together with my management team and colleagues, I have worked hard to put Cono Kaasmakers on the map for now and the next generations. We do this with our premium cheeses, including our A-brand Beemster cheese. we have always ensured a fair milk price for our dairy farmers. Cono Cheesemakers continues to invest in people, animal welfare and the environment, sustainable innovation in the cheese dairy, the entire cheese chain and on our farms."

Successor Jerry Griep started in 2012 as general sales manager at Cono. According to the board, his knowledge of the market, good relations with trading partners and 'possession of the right Cono DNA' make him the right successor to Betten
