Cono cheesemakers keeps the milk price the same for November, it is the fifth stable change in a row. Since the release of the quota in 2015, this has only happened once.
The basic milk price for November is €56,20 per 100 kilos. This is calculated based on the standard fat and protein contents and an annual supply of 1 million kilos. Including the maximum bonuses and premiums that can be achieved through the 'Caring Dairy' program, the milk price can rise to €60,70. The fifth stable mutation in a row is striking. Since the abolition of the quota in 2015, this only happened in 2019.
Dutch Milk price calculator
In Dutch Milk price calculator van Boerenbusiness Cono has been closing the gate for a while now. This is a somewhat unusual position for the cheese maker from the Beemster, as the members can usually count on a competitive milk price, or even more than that.
The fact that it is slightly less this year is due to the high inflation. As a result, the price difference of branded cheese, which Cono is strongly committed to, has been eliminated or at least reduced. According to director Wim Betten, the sales volumes have therefore remained stable.
In recent months, unbranded bulk cheese has made a good profit due to the scarcity. However, the foil cheese quotations of Gouda and Edam have fallen sharply in recent weeks, which means that the price difference has narrowed.
