The board of ZuivelNL has approved the 2023 budget. It has also agreed to an increase in the contribution and a higher 'license fee' for Koemonitor.
The total budget will increase by approximately €1 million, largely due to increased costs, the board reports.
With the decision, the contribution for dairy farmers will increase from 5 to 5,5 cents per 100 kilos of milk, while the dairy industry contributes 2,5 cents instead of 2 cents now. Thanks to a total contribution of 8 cents per 100 kilos of milk, the budget for 2023 will increase to €11,6 million.
In addition, the license fee for Cow Monitor will increase from €70 to €75 per dairy farm. The total of these contributions amounts to €1.073.000 on an annual basis, while the expected costs will amount to €715.000. The remaining money is put into the KoeMonitor designated reserve.
Modernization of Cow Monitor and MediRund
The designated reserve is there to cover expected operating deficits in the future after modernization of Koemonitor. The organization is allocating a total of €3,5 million for this and for the modernization of MediRund.
