The price for skimming-free lease (lots up to 100 kilos) has been approximately halved in just 2 weeks. The supply is large and the demand is small. Anyone who acquires leasing rights for €12 per kilo is at the top of the market. Anyone who pays €9 has a relative bargain, but there is still plenty of choice.
For lease rights with skimming, the price dropped to an average of around €33 per kilo. In the meantime, purchasing rights are still paid between €168 and €170 per kilo.
Although a number of phosphate traders believe that the trade in these rights is largely over for this year, some traders are also convinced that many farmers still have to purchase additional rights for this year.
