The Belgian Laiterie des Ardennes has lowered its milk price for the second time in a row, due to the weakening dairy market. At the same time, it also chooses to strengthen its reserves.
The milk price for November at the legal Belgian contents will be reduced to €53,00 per 100 liters. This corresponds to a milk price at real contents and an annual delivery of 1,3 million liters of €55,64.
This sets the lowest milk price of the five largest Belgian processors for this month. This is also evident from the Belgian Milk Price Comparator van Boerenbusiness.
At the same time as this step, the cooperative also chooses to increase reserves by €1,50 per 100 liters. The company is thus creating a buffer for more difficult times.
Over the past two years, LDA has also proven that it is a leader in following the market. LDA was the first to pass on the higher yields on the dairy market in the milk price. It is in the company's culture to do this, and it also fits with LDA's product package. The cooperative has expanded this in recent years with the construction of a mozzarella factory, but it mainly continues to produce for other food companies and exports.
