Dairy company Olympia has made new agreements with Unilever to continue and expand the collaboration. Olympia supplies Caring Dairy dairy to the food group and is reportedly looking for more suppliers for it.
Olympia and parent company Royal A-ware do not want to say anything about the latter, but it is confirmed that new agreements have been made.
Olympia is a medium-sized Belgian dairy company that came under the wing of Royal A-ware last year.
Compensation doubled
The farmers who are already participating in the Caring Dairy concept receive a compensation of €1,00 per 100 liters extra for their milk, on top of their regular compensation at Olympia. This surcharge will soon increase to €2,00 per 100 liters, a spokesperson confirms. An updated set of conditions must be met for this. Olympia does not want to say how many farmers are currently participating in the program. It is said that there are about fifty of them.
Unilever's Caring Dairy program runs in several countries. In the Netherlands, farmers from Cono and FrieslandCampina, among others, supply milk for making ice cream mix (for Ben & Jerry's), in Germany it is members of DMK who supply milk.
