The phosphate trade is working overtime again, as usual around this time of year. Many parties want to quickly buy or lease some rights. Another factor is that traders still have to report a great many transactions to the RVO implementation service. Sometimes this will be at the expense of new trade. The price of the rights has sometimes been higher.
The price of purchasing rights is gradually rising again this week after an initial decline, but with an average of €162, it is still about €25 below the price of just under three months ago. Waiting is not punished this time.
The price for leasing rights has also been higher at times, although it is also currently on the rise. Lease with skimming is now, at almost €30, still around €10 per kilo cheaper than a year ago. Perhaps that is a bit special, because there is plenty of speculation that a large livestock farmer in the south of the country could soon enter the market.
The market for skimming-free leasing has virtually collapsed in recent weeks under pressure from the large supply. The price fluctuates somewhere around €10 per kilo.
