Cheese maker Lactalis Leerdammer lowers the milk price as of January by almost €1,75 per 100 kilos. With this, the company follows the general trend in the dairy sector, whereby milk prices are reduced due to the falling sales prices for dairy products.
At Lactalis Leerdammer, the milk price goes from €60,50 to €58,76 per 100 kilos. This is at the standard levels that applied to milk last year, that is to say; 4,44% and 3,57% protein. This milk price drop is relatively limited compared to other processors.
Decreases partly compensated
At FrieslandCampina and Royal A-ware there was a larger milk price drop, successively of €2,78 and €3,20 per 100 kilos. At these companies, this reduction was partly compensated. At FrieslandCampina this is mainly done by introducing additional earning opportunities through the Focus Planet system.
Two new surcharges have been introduced at Royal A-ware: a premium quality surcharge of 25 cents for all suppliers and a surcharge of 50 cents for suppliers who do not participate in Albert Heijn's Beter-voor program.
At Leerdammer, nothing has changed in the allowance system so far. The maximum milk price that a supplier can receive from Leerdammer is €62,01 per 100 kilos.
