How dry is your corn silage? Many livestock farmers were surprised this year by the rapid maturation of their maize. Due to the dry, warm summer, things went very fast and we see many maize silage of more than 40% dry matter. From now on, avoid chopping too late with our digital cultivation aid: Agrility.
Harvest planning has a major impact on the yield of silage maize cultivation. Chopping too early gives a lower nutritional value, because the starch is not yet fully formed. Chopping too late gives more chance of overheating, lower intake and less good digestion. However, ensuring that the shredder is scheduled for the optimum dry matter content of 36% - 37% is not easy.
Agrility predicts maturity
With Agrility's new digital platform you have complete control of your maize, with little effort. In addition to monitoring growth and yield spread, Agrility accurately displays the course and the expectation of ripening. This way you can schedule the contractor well in advance at the optimal harvest time.
Agrility will be exclusively available to all growers of LG silage maize in 2023. For only €90 you have access to the platform for a year and you can follow your corn fields digitally. Sign up here >
