Leerdammer reduces and comes with an extra allowance

Cheese maker Lactalis Leerdammer lowers the milk price for February by almost €4 per 100 kilos, making it one of the moderate lowers for this month. In addition, it introduces an additional surcharge for larger suppliers.

The precise reduction amounts to €3,97 per 100 kilos, which means that the milk price for an annual supply of 1 million kilos per year, according to the Boerenbusiness Dutch Milk price calculator works out to €55,00 per 100 kilos. This is the basic milk price excluding VAT, after deduction of 5,5 cents per 100 kilos for ZuivelNL. Moreover, this price applies to the new standard contents of 4,45% fat and 3,58% protein, which will be used this year by almost all processors.

Including all allowances, the maximum milk price at Lactalis Leerdammer amounts to €58,25 per 100 kilos. In order to reward larger suppliers extra (and better retain them), Leerdammer has introduced an additional quantity scale. From a delivery of 100.000 kilos of milk per month or more (from 1,2 million kilos per year), the surcharge increases by about 80 cents to €2,50 per 100 kilos. The rest of the scale will not be adjusted, only a reward step has been added.
