FrieslandCampina lowers larger price step

With the guaranteed price for March, FrieslandCampina is taking a bigger step down than the previous 2 times in the new year. It cites a high milk supply and lagging demand as the cause. In the meantime, the organic guaranteed price remains the same.

FrieslandCampina assumes that milk prices will also fall at other dairy companies in Northwestern Europe. This should become apparent in the coming days, when some of these companies will also announce their milk prices. Competitor Arla has not yet announced a milk price for March.

FrieslandCampina's milk price as presented in the Boerenbusiness Dutch Milk price calculator drops to €49,72 per 100 kilos. This is the basic milk price ex VAT, after deduction of a contribution for ZuivelNL, for an annual supply of 1 million kilos. The meadow milk price is €51,02 per 100 kilos, the maximum milk price is €55,52 per 100 kilos.

The organic guaranteed price for March remains the same at €63,25 per 100 kilos. According to FrieslandCampina, this is less due to the prospects on this market than to the price development as seen in retrospect. The price remained the same 'as a result of an upward correction in connection with higher reference prices in the recent period', the company reports. The milk price paid will decrease due to a lower winter bonus, according to the report Boerenbusiness Organic milk price comparator see.
