Cono struggles to hold onto position with April milk price
Cono Kaasmakers lowered the advance milk price for the month of April less than most other Dutch processors. Nevertheless, in terms of payment, it increases the distance to DOC Kaas.

This is evident from the Boerenbusiness Milk price comparator. In total, the milk price reduction at Cono amounts to €4,27 per 100 kilos, bringing the basic milk price to €41,34 per 100 kilos. That is €2,28 below the second lowest, DOC Cheese. It pays a basic milk price of €43,62 for April.
However, most Cono members receive a higher milk price, that is, the maximum in the milk price comparator. This amounts to €45,84 per 100 kilos in April. With this price, Cono is no longer the lowest payer, just like last month.
The North Holland brand cheese maker seems to be gradually regaining some position, after it was suddenly no longer able to remain the highest milk payer last year due to a rapidly changing dairy market. However, the cheese market has not yet returned to its old track.
