With an average price increase of 2,5% to $3.506 per tonne, the average price, the GDT Price Index, continues to rise. This is the highest level since early December. The traded volume shows a normal pattern for this time of year at 23.265 tonnes. Only AMF is declining somewhat. Furthermore, all manufacturers turn green, with whole milk powder and cheddar first. The result is a signal that market sentiment in dairy is clearly gaining positivity, although this is less evident on the European market.

The rising GDT prices are improving the negotiating position of European dairy exporters on the world market. The price level of the DCA quotations for skimmed milk powder and butter is now below the level achieved on the GDT.
