Video: sow corn and follow closely

10 May 2023

Silage maize is a stable, high-quality energy source in the dairy cattle ration. With all the pressure from regulations and weather extremes, cultivation must be well cared for in order to succeed optimally. As a dairy farmer, it is sometimes difficult to find time for this. With Agrility you now have a digital cultivation aid.

You can easily register your maize plots in the Agrility online platform. After sowing, you can see satellite images of crop growth throughout the growing season. In the course of the summer, an accurate yield forecast and a prediction of ripening will be added. This way you gain insight into the yield spread, you know how much yield you will achieve and you can schedule the contractor well in advance at the optimal moment of chopping!

Take your corn farming to the next level and go use Agrility this season >>

4 tips for sowing corn

  1. Prepare a fine, tight and level seedbed that is loose down to the sowing depth
  2. Match the sowing density to the field and sowing date
  3. Sow in a sufficiently warmed soil if the bearing capacity allows
  4. When sowing later, opt for (ultra) early maize varieties, so that the maize is ripe in time
