Do the turnout check corn: this is how you go about it
June 5, 2023
After sowing, doing a germination check is important for a successful maize crop. You can still make adjustments at the beginning of the maize growth. During the check, you immediately ensure that the weed control is carried out at the optimum time. How do you handle that?
In the video, forage specialist Patrick Boosten explains how to perform a good emergence check, with an explanation about:
- The emergence: how many plants are there per hectare, is there loss due to too wet, too dry, insects or birds?
- Weed control: don't wait too long, now the weeds can still be controlled well, the maize still has little umbrella effect and absorbs little product.
- The growth and soon the ripening follow with several sowing moments: with the new Agrility program you can easily do this digitally.
