Rouveen Kaasspecialiteiten has seen its turnover increase over 2022. The company paid the members more on average, but left less for subsequent payments.
This is evident from last year's annual report. The company's turnover increased by €35,1 million to €236,7 million. Of this, 75,5% was achieved with the production and sale of cheese. Sales of milk, cream and whey accounted for the remainder of the turnover. This meant that the share of cheese in turnover was slightly smaller than in the previous year.
Cheese price increases are lagging behind
The increase in turnover for cheese was also smaller than for other dairy products. The reason for this appears to be the strong changes that took place in the dairy market last year.
Cheese was sold at a higher price than in 2021. The average price was €5,31 per kilo, last year that amount rose to €6,16 per kilo, which is more than 13% more. Revenues from milk, cream and whey increased by 31,5%.
A third higher advance
The members received an average 33% higher advance for their milk. This is the average of all milk flows. Nearly €116 million in advance was paid out in total. That is €28,8 million more than in 2021. €5,4 million remained for the additional payment, which is €2,2 million less than the year before.
