Strike at Nestlé milk powder factory in Nunspeet

June 27, 2023 - Max van der Heijden

Despite FNV's approval of Nestlé's wage offer, FNV members have not agreed to the negotiation result. After the rejection, the FNV members went on strike today at the milk powder factory in Nunspeet.

Nestlé Netherlands states in a press release that it has extensively discussed the criticisms of the FNV members in recent weeks. However, a difference of opinion remains about the amount of the structural salary increase.

The company regrets this, as it believes that a fair and proportionate result has been achieved. with an increase of 7% in the highest salary scale and 11,15% in the lowest salary scale. An average increase of 9%.

For the employees of Nestlé in Nunspeet, however, the offer is very disappointing and reason for them to go on strike for 48 hours from Tuesday morning. The employees of the factory want at least 10% salary this year with retroactive effect from April, but Nestlé thinks 3% and € 175 per month is enough, according to FNV.

According to Robert Wonnink, who is sitting at the negotiating table on behalf of the FNV, the difference in the percentages mentioned by FNV and Nestlé can be explained by the fact that a fixed increase of €175 for the lower salary scales outweighs the higher salary scales.

dissatisfaction
The negotiations between FNV and FNV have been going on for months. Union members brushed aside the negotiating result in April. There is dissatisfaction with the method of remuneration for senior staff at Nestlé for whom a different collective agreement applies within Nestlé. CNV members did agree with Nestlé's wage offer

About 1200 people work at Nestlé Netherlands, almost 800 of whom are covered by the company collective labor agreement. Of these, 531 work at the baby milk powder factory in Nunspeet.
