Coöperatie DeltaMilk performed well in 2022. It managed to pay an above-average milk price and also to have more money left over than in 2021, which was also good for a nice cash back payment.
This is evident from the annual report for 2022. The cooperative's turnover increased by 37% from €211,3 million to almost €290 million. In the meantime, DeltaMilk managed to pay a high milk price again and also pay out a nice supplementary payment. This ultimately amounted to just above the milk price of FrieslandCampina, which paid €57,35 per 100 kilos plus a cash supplement of €0,90. Cash payment at DeltaMilk was approximately €2,50 per 100 kilos. The profit for 2022 amounted to almost €2,4 million, compared to €943.000 the year before. The vast majority of turnover was achieved in the Netherlands (€280 million). There was also the strongest sales growth. Turnover in Europe increased to €9,5 million, turnover outside the EU (a relatively new arm for DeltaMilk) halved.
Natural cheese
The cooperative with around 200 members in the west and center of the country mainly produces natural cheese and has therefore acquired a good market position. Most of the production is sold under private label, a small part is produced for Albert Heijn, as part of the 'Beter Voor programme'. In addition to milk from its own farmers, DeltaMilk also still processes an important flow of milk from FrieslandCampina. A long-term supply agreement was concluded for this purpose again in 2021. FrieslandCampina buys back the whey from DeltaMilk.
