Children's food manufacturer Ausnutria has commissioned audit organization PWC to investigate the previously reported errors in the annual accounts and maintains that they were only errors, no more and no less. According to the investigation, errors were made on a total of eight points, three of which relate to the Netherlands.
The various errors have according to the report Broadly speaking, there is one thing in common, and that is that there has been underestimation on most points. This is also the case with the problems discovered in the Netherlands. For example, the damage caused by the loss of creditworthiness of a customer in the Netherlands may have been underestimated. In addition, the (share of) loss at an 'associated company' in the Netherlands has been underestimated. Finally, the structural health costs of Dutch personnel have also been underestimated.
The total costs of the errors are not mentioned. A number of errors had already been discovered more than a year ago, including cases that occurred in the Netherlands. However, no immediate and sufficient action was taken. Only with the annual accounts for 2022 has everything been addressed, Ausnutria says.
The company does not indicate what next steps will be taken. So far there do not appear to be any personnel consequences. It is also not further clarified what measures have been taken to prevent recurrence. Perhaps there will be more about this in the coming days. Ausnutria's announcement was only made at the end of last week. Reactions are therefore still scarce.
