The average payment price that organic dairy farmers receive in July will increase slightly. This is evident from a comparison of the figures by Boerenbusiness.
However, it is not an improvement in the market that provides the additional income, but a reduction in the seasonal deduction that FrieslandCampina applies in July. The guaranteed price remains unchanged.
The average milk price increased from June to July from an average of €57,09 to €57,22 per 100 kilos. From May to June, the average payment price actually fell by €1,35 per 100 kilos.
Actually, all five processors held in the Organic Milk Price Comparator van Boerenbusiness their prices stable in July, with the exception of Arla. This dropped the organic milk price for the current month by 38 cents per 100 kilos.
Just like FrieslandCampina, Eko-Holland uses seasonal surcharges and deductions, but these are not discounted per month. Eko-Holland applies a settlement afterwards. As a result, the deductions during this period are not reflected in the milk price.
Compared to last year, the organic milk price has now also fallen, about €6 to €7 per 100 kilos, but much less than the conventional milk price, which has fallen by €20 and more per 100 kilos.
