The two Belgian cooperatives Milcobel and LDA both lower their milk prices, the first in July, the second in June. The situation on the dairy market as a whole leaves no other choice.
Milcobel tries to express the situation positively: "The hoped-for price increase has not materialized on the international dairy markets. The situation does not show any pronounced positive trends. Volatility therefore remains high." Prices for major dairy raw materials have even clearly been on a downward trend in recent weeks.
In concrete terms, for Milcobel this means that the standard milk price for July will be reduced by €1,50 per 100 liters to €37,50 per 100 liters. At realistic levels of 43 grams of fat and 35 grams of protein per 100 liters and with maximum premiums, €41,55 per 100 liters can be achieved, the company says.
That is the most favorable case. Next the Belgian Milk Price Comparator van Boerenbusiness €1,3 per 40,55 liters is paid for an annual delivery of 100 million liters and real contents. That is €1,02 more than Arla pays, but almost €1,30 below the milk price of FrieslandCampina and €2,18 below the comparable milk price of A-ware.
This week Laiterie des Ardennes determined the milk price for June and thus reduced the standard price by €2,00 to €38,00 per 100 liters. This represents a comparison price at real contents of €39,98 per 100 liters.
