Cono drops milk price below 40 euros
Cono cheese makers have lowered the milk price for July, dropping through the limit of €40 per 100 kilos.

Cono reduces the milk price by €1,50 to €39,15 per 100 kilos. This means that the reduction is gaining more momentum than in the previous months. After DOC Cheese, Cono is the second processor in the Netherlands to drop the basic payment price below €40.
Many members of the cooperative will experience this less extreme, because the milk price can rise to €43,65. This is when the maximum score is achieved in the Caring Dairy program. In practice, few Cono members only receive the basic milk price. Nevertheless, the relatively low basic milk price is a sign that the dairy market has recently been under pressure and the reduction is being felt by everyone.

Cono is the last processor in the Milk Price Comparator to announce the payment price for July. Many processors made another reduction that month. The trend for August is more stable, given stable changes at FrieslandCampina, Arla and DOC Kaas.
