Dairy cooperative Milcobel lowers the milk price for the month of August by a few cents compared to the previous month. With the real milk price and a supply of 1 million liters per year, it remains just above € 40,00 per 100 liters for the affiliated dairy farmers.
According to Milcobel itself, the maximum achievable milk price is €41,15 per 100 liters, but that is with an annual supply of 2,7 million liters. With a more common volume of 1 million liters, members receive a real price of €40,04 per 100 liters. This means that it will have to tolerate FrieslandCampina and Royal A-ware, as is evident from the report Boerenbusiness Belgian milk price calculator, but it still pays a decent average price.
The milk price at the legal Belgian contents is set at €37,00 per 100 liters.
Milcobel opted for the reduction because the dairy market is still in summer mode. There is little trade, with weak demand. This situation continues to put pressure on milk prices.
