FrieslandCampina drops the guaranteed price for September after four months of stable milk prices. The usual guaranteed price will decrease by €2,00, the organic guaranteed price will decrease at a more leisurely pace. What does FrieslandCampina do in the Boerenbusiness Milk price comparator?
The going price is lowered in the expectation that reference prices at other processors will (also) fall as a result of lagging market demand and high inventories. Most companies have long since implemented price reductions. Due to the changed circumstances, the guaranteed price will increase to €41,25 per 100 kilos. As a result, the average guaranteed price for conventional milk until September is €47,28 per 100 kilos of milk, the dairy company calculates.
Organic milk price
The guaranteed price for organic farm milk will be reduced by €1,25 to €54,25 per 100 kilos for September. This price includes a positive correction over the past period. Given the persistent oversupply of organic milk, FrieslandCampina expects reference prices to drop slightly.
According to the Boerenbusiness Milk price comparator FrieslandCampina's basic milk price for a volume of 1 million kilos per year (excluding VAT and after deduction of a 5,5 cent contribution for ZuivelNL) will decrease to €40,47 per 100 kilos. The meadow milk price will increase to €41,77 per 100 kilos, the maximum milk price is €46,77 per 100 kilos. The organic milk price for 1 million kilos goes to €56,17 per 100 kilos. In the coming days, most other dairy companies will announce their milk prices for September.
