DOC Kaas keeps milk price the same for the third time
DOC Kaas keeps the milk price for the month of September the same as that of the two previous months. The cooperative is therefore below the level of Arla and FrieslandCampina, but the reductions have been halted for the time being.

This means that DOC Kaas can celebrate its 25th anniversary and the open day in Hoogeveen on Saturday with reasonable peace of mind.
According to the Boerenbusiness Dutch Milk price calculator than €37,93 per 100 kilos, the milk price including all surcharges is still above €40 per 100 kilos (€40,70).

Last year, DOC Cheese set a much higher milk price. According to the aforementioned milk price comparator, the basic payment was €55,40 per 100 kilos and a maximum of €58,15, plus a supplementary payment of €0,89 per 100 kilos. This good milk price then prompted several farmers to switch to the Hoogeveens cooperative.
The additional payment is reported in the newly filed annual report. Turnover increased last year, mainly due to high milk prices, by more than €112 million to €325 million, while a positive balance remained of €90.000 (was -€25.000). Solvency fell slightly to 21%.
Due to the high feed costs, DOC then offered the suppliers of Vlog milk a temporary exemption from the delivery obligation for that milk. However, only few members have made use of this.
Last year, research was also conducted into the possibilities of setting up an extra sustainable milk flow. This has not yet produced any concrete results.
