Video: what do we do after the corn?

19 September 2023

The silage maize harvest is getting underway. Unlike the past few years, the sowing of maize was very staggered and some plots were sown late. The harvest spread will therefore also be greater. In addition to the catch crop rules, we now also have to deal with rest crops. That brings up the question: what do we do after the corn?

A catch crop must be sown no later than October 1 on maize plots that have not been undersown. You can also choose winter grain as your main crop, then you can chop until October 31 at the latest. In the video, cultivation specialist Antoon Verhoeven explains what options you have and recommends an interesting concentrate crop for after corn.
