Bas says that he especially appreciates the practical advice: "When we wanted to build a new stable, we received advice from a risk expert from Interpolis. The conversation was about our plans for the future, but also about fire-safe material choices, compartmentalization of the technical spaces and a new solar panel system. Choices you can make before and during the new construction have much less impact than having to adjust afterwards."

"I run a dairy farm with my parents and my brother and we built a new stable last year. We mainly focused on labor efficiency. Because by building a new one we could automate a lot, such as milking with robots and automatic bedding of the cubicles. There are no manure pits under our stable anymore, we now separate urine and solid manure directly on the floor. When we were planning to start building, I was already in contact with my insurance advisor. This is how I came into contact with a risk expert from Interpolis who gave us advice. It was quick and easy to switch, both before and during construction, with little effort and smooth contact."

The solar panels are directly on the roof
There are solar panels on the new stable. "This makes us self-sufficient in our energy. We opted for a new system in which the solar panels are directly on the roof. This way we save on the roof covering and there is nothing underneath that can burn or in which vermin can nest. It also provides daylight. in the stable and it is good for fire safety."

"We ensure that our soil and soil fertility are in good order. This way we take future generations into account and not just next year's profits. The long-term perspective is ingrained in our way of doing business."
