The milk price at legal Belgian contents will increase from €36,00 to €38,00 per 100 liters. Last month an additional €1,00 per 100 liters was added. The price for real fat and protein contents will this time go from €39,01 to €41,07 per 100 liters, according to the Belgian Milk Price Comparator van Boerenbusiness .

This price applies to an annual supply of 1,3 million litres. The maximum milk price for a volume of 2,7 million liters or more will increase to €42,17 per 100 liters, Milcobel reports.

The reason for the milk price increase is the same as last month: the increased prices on the dairy market. Milcobel hopes that the positive trend on the dairy market will continue in the new year. The production of whey protein concentrate (WPC80) will also be started in Langemark. This is a joint project with Arla Food Ingredients. Milcobel hopes that this new project will also contribute to the milk price for its members.

With the announcement of the December milk price, the total advance price for 2023 can also be calculated. For Milcobel, at real levels and an annual delivery of 1,3 million kilos, this amounts to €42,56 per 100 liters. This means that the cooperative is lagging slightly behind the other major parties in the Belgian market that have already announced prices for December.

Arla pays an average advance price of €43,95 per 100 liters, A-ware pays €44,46 and FrieslandCampina pays €44,16 per 100 liters. This last price is the supplier price, not the price for members.
