Arla increases milk price but reduces surcharge
Arla's milk price will increase significantly in January, after an increase had already been implemented in December. From the new year, the surcharges will decrease slightly.

The basic milk price increases by €2,64 to €42,82 per 100 kilos. In the milk price comparator Arla is still below FrieslandCampina, which unexpectedly lowered the guaranteed price earlier this week.
For January, the difference has shrunk to just over €1 in favor of the Dutch dairy cooperative. Including the maximum allowances that can be achieved for vlog, sustainability and climate, among other things, Arla's milk price rises to €45,89 per 100 kilos.
The allowances will be adjusted as of 2024. The program One Milk Collection is ending. This also stops the reimbursement of €0,85 per 100 kilos. This will be replaced by a new surcharge for maintenance and cost compensation. This amounts to €0,27 per 100 kilos.
Attractive retail prices
Arthur Fernall, chairman of the cooperative, calls the increase in the milk price for January a good start to the year. He cites rising retail prices as the reason for increasing the milk price. In addition, world market prices for dairy have also increased in recent months.
