Arla keeps February milk price the same

31 January 2024 - Klaas van der Horst

Arla Foods is once again doing things differently than industry peer FrieslandCampina and is keeping the milk price the same for the month of February. However, this does not apply to the organic milk price in the Netherlands. It drops by a few euros. The current milk price in the Netherlands is slightly lower due to rounding differences.

The result is that, while last month the basic milk prices of FrieslandCampina and Arla were almost the same, these prices now differ by more than €1,30 per 100 kilos, in favor of FrieslandCampina. This is evident from the Boerenbusiness Milk price comparator.
The organic milk price has fallen considerably, as is clear from Arla's statements, but according to the Organic milk price comparator from Boerenbusiness now almost at the same level as FrieslandCampina's organic milk price.

The top line is Arla's organic milk price, the gray is Arla's Belgian milk price (in liters).

The most stable is Arla's Belgian milk price, which remains unchanged and is therefore more than €2 below FrieslandCampina's (basic) supplier price.
