FrieslandCampina increases the guaranteed price for March slightly further compared to February. However, according to the company, this is not the result of a market effect, but a consequence of a rather too low estimate of the reference prices in the previous period. In the meantime, the organic milk price is increasing more sharply.
The company expects that the companies that the group uses to determine the milk price will keep their farm milk prices stable. Due to the 'positive correction', the guaranteed price for March will increase by €0,50 per 100 kilos to €46,50 per 100 kilos.
The basic milk price according to Boerenbusiness milk price comparator for March it amounts to €46,55 per 100 kilos.
The organic guaranteed price will be increased by €2,50 to €58,00 per 100 kilos compared to last month. This is partly due to an underestimate of the reference prices in the previous period. There is also a market effect. FrieslandCampina expects the reference companies to increase their organic farm milk prices.
This year, FrieslandCampina is faced with the challenge of at least recouping the guaranteed price from the market. A high Guaranteed Price was paid last year, but approximately €300 million was drawn from company reserves and €3,22 per 100 kilos was not actually earned.
