The Polish milk supply has started much stronger in 2024 than in recent years. The total milk supply for the first four months of this year was 4,6 million tons higher than the previous three years.
The milk supply in the first four months of 2021 was 4,2 million tons, which was considerably lower. In 2022, the milk supply in the same period was 4,3 million tons. In 2023, the milk supply during that period increased further to 4,4 million tons. This year it has risen further to 4,6 million tonnes in the first four months of the year.
Milk supply in April was 1,17 million tonnes, according to Eurostat data, compared to 1,11 million tonnes in the same month last year. The improved milk supply in April is likely due to better weather conditions, reports German market and price agency ZMB.
From January to April 2024, drinking milk production increased by 1%. Cheese production has even increased by 6,1%. Unlike butter production, which actually fell by 3,5%, writes ZMB.
