June 17, 2024 - Klaas van der Horst

The Belgian Laiterie des Ardennes has caught up with the milk price for the month of May. While a number of competitors kept the milk price the same, LDA increased it. The sustainability surcharge has also been increased retroactively from April.

This causes the milk price to rise to €1,3 per 45,35 liters at real Belgian contents and an annual delivery of 100 million liters. This makes the basic milk price for May the second highest in Belgium, after FrieslandCampina, according to the Belgian Milk Price Comparator van Boerenbusiness.

Including all surcharges, the milk price amounts to a maximum of €46,30 per 100 liters.

LDA, like other dairy companies, is benefiting from the improved dairy market and is particularly benefiting from the higher prices for butter, cream and mozzarella.
