The German dairy group Hochwald, which also has a factory in Bolsward, managed to maintain both milk supply and turnover last year and even achieved a higher gross result.
The company announced this yesterday. The milk price paid to members did drop from €53,10 to €47,50 per 100 kilos (at 3,4% fat and 4,2% protein), but Hochwald is also satisfied with that. The company reports that it paid €2,20 more than the average German milk price in 2023.
Turnover fell slightly, from €1.975 million to €1.965 million, gross profit increased by €10 million to €138,4 million. The company expects an approximately unchanged result for this year, according to CEO Detlef Latka.
The company has a strong position in consumer dairy and last year took over the Tuffi brand from Müller Milch, which in turn had acquired it from FrieslandCampina.
Total milk processing increased by just under 10 million kilos to 2.180 million kilos. In the coming years, Hochwald wants to achieve additional growth in the milk fat market. It mainly uses its subsidiary Schütte & Lemmerholz for this purpose.
