Dairy producer Arla is increasing the advance milk price for August by more than 80 cents per 100 kilos, because this is less than the increase that FrieslandCampina previously announced for August.
According to Arla itself, the current milk price for the Netherlands now amounts to €47,31 per 100 kilos, compared to €46,45 last month. In Belgium, the milk price for August is €47,34 per 100 liters, compared to €46,52 last month.
According to the calculation of Boerenbusiness the difference works out slightly differently and the price in the Netherlands increases by 54 cents to €46,47 per 100 kilos. Also see de Boerenbusiness milk price comparator. In Belgium, the milk price increases by 50 cents to €46,48 per 100 liters.
According to Arla, the organic milk price for the Netherlands and Belgium will increase by successively 40 cents per kilo and 31 cents per 100 liters.
Space in the market
Commenting on the upward movement, Arthur Fearnall, chairman of the British Arla farmers, says that most markets are now relatively stable, but that retail sales still appear to be increasing slightly. That gives some room in the market.
