DMK and DOC Kaas start working with German welfare label

DMK Group adds value to the milk in a wide range of dairy products. The company expects to be able to convert a large part of this range to the standards of the HF3 program. Dairy farmers can earn a surcharge of € 3,00 per 100 kilos of milk on top of the basic milk price.

The market demand for dairy with the HF3 label started in 2023 and is growing. German supermarket chains want to convert the range of both cheese and white dairy products to products that meet the requirements of HF3. Last year, the DMK Group switched its range of dairy drinks to the new standard

In order to meet the growing market demand, the boards of DMK and DOC Kaas UA have decided to offer all Dutch and German members the opportunity to supply milk according to the QM++ program as of January 1, 2025. this corresponds to Haltungsform- Stufe 3.

Independent assurance
The program focuses on several components, including cow comfort, animal health, calf rearing, feed, husbandry conditions and farm environment/hygiene. Each part has several criteria that participating dairy farmers must meet. In addition, having a valid KKM and VLOG recognition are basic conditions for participation in the program. The assurance is carried out by an independent party.

Participation in the HF3 program is also possible for new members who register with DOC Kaas and who meet the criteria. The new milk flow will take place next to the 'Tuurlijk flow' that DOC Kaas has created in collaboration with Jumbo. 

Earlier this year, competitor A-ware introduced a similar milk flow under the name Koebewust. A premium of €3,00 per 100 kilos of milk is also paid for this.
